Newsweek Reports on Todd Strandberg's Claim that Obama is the Antichrist!

Is this real?
Is Obama the Antichrist?
The winning lottery number in Illinois was 666, which, as everyone knows, is the sign of the Beast
Of course Newsweek is not saying this, they are only reporting on what some weirdo (Todd Strandberg) is speculating on in his rantings. But why would a reputable magazine even carry such a story? Sounds more like something you would read while standing in line at the supermarket.
It goes like this:
According to a 2006 study by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, a third of white evangelicals believe the world will end in their lifetimes. These mostly conservative Christians believe a great battle is imminent. After years of tribulation—natural disasters, other cataclysms (such as the collapse of financial markets)—God's armies will vanquish armies led by the Antichrist himself. He will be a sweet-talking world leader who gathers governments and economies under his command to further his own evil agenda.
Strandberg says Obama probably isn't the Antichrist, but he's watching the president-elect carefully. On his Web site, he has something called the Rapture Index, a calculation based on signs and prophecy of the proximity of the end. According to Strandberg, any number over 160 means "fasten your seat belts." Obama's win pushed the index to 161.
This didn't sit so well with me so I started doing a little Googling and it gave me shivers.
I was thinking at worst he was just another Jim Jones. A piece of the Chicago machine that has a great talent to excite the passion in people.
Seems others have a much higher opinion of him.

Isn't it about time we turned America around? Isn't this our chance to make the change?
You know, I am not real thrilled about the thought of the republicans continuing business as usual but I have for years peeked into the like of John McCain. I have watched the documentaries. I know a lot about him. I know he is an American.
On the other hand. I think it is about time we discuss what we know about the other choice and see if we are ready for a change.
Here is what I know and a few questions. Maybe we can start from there. Please add what you can and we can start piecing together the back ground of this man.
HIS FATHER WAS A KENYAN, MUSLIM, BLACK - WE HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF HIS 'AFRICAN FAMILY'.
HIS MOTHER IS A KANSAN, ATHEIST, WHITE - WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF HIS KANSAN, WHITE MOTHER AND HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS WHO RAISED HIM?
HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER AND HIM WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND WENT BACK TO HIS FAMILY (WHOSE FAMILY?) IN KENYA?
HIS FATHER DID VISIT HIM ONCE WHEN HE WAS IN THE FIFTH GRADE.
HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND TOOK HIM TO JAK ARTA WHERE HE ATTENDED A MUSLIM SCHOOL
HIS MOTHER RETURNED TO HAWAII AND HE WAS RAISED BY HIS WHITE KANSAN GRANDPARENTS. WHEN ?
HE LATER WENT TO THE BEST HIGH DOLLAR SCHOOLS. HOW? WERE HIS GRAND PARENTS RICH?
HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE THAT HE ACQUIRED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUND RAISER. HOW?
HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO - HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB.
HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL, WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.
HE IS PROUD OF HIS 'AFRICAN HERITAGE' BUT IT SEEMS THAT HIS ONLY AFRICAN CONNECTION WAS THAT HIS AFRICAN FATHER GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT SPERM CARRIED A 'CULTURAL' GENE. WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS WHITE CULTURE?
HE GOES TO A 'AFROCENTRIC' CHURCH THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD'S PERCEIVED FAULTS AND THEN REPEATEDLY COVERS UP FOR THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH.
HE CLAIMS THAT HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN.
HE DOESN'T LIKE TO WEAR AN AMERICAN FLAG PIN OR SALUTE THE FLAG BECAUSE HE IS AFRAID PEOPLE WILL THINK HE IS "CHOOSING SIDES". WHAT ARE THE OTHER CHOICES?
DOESN"T OBAMA FIT THE 17 to 40 MALE MUSLIM PROFILE THAT HAS PLAGUED THE USA EVER SINCE THE ASSIGNATION OF BOBBY KENNEDY. Okay, okay, low shot. We shouldn't profile.
But now I have run out of positive things to say about him.
