@ronknott What I was trying to say with the last line is that, for now, historians seem to be reserving judgment on Obama’s presidency. That will inevitably change. Nothing more to it than that. @wmartin46 I think Smith’s “bold” advice was more about Obama pushing for his domestic agenda. Not, say, invading Poland. Thanks for commenting, all. This is a new blog so feedback is MUCH appreciated.

Your byline is still your bond, Thomas Bartlett, senior writer, and I think it’s pretty clear to everyone other than ronknott what a blog is and is not.So many of your colleagues’ blogs have been hijacked in the comments sections by bloviates and cranks, so at this point the best advice you can probably get is: don’t feed the trolls!

@ronknott: Oh, it was a punchline, all right.@jgherder: Good advice.

@lexalexander: Yeah, well, I can’t believe Godwin’s Law went into effect after 2 posts and 6 comments. Not bad for a noob, Bartlett!

We may not be certain whether Obama is history, but the second “sentence” of this piece makes it clear that grammar is history.
