this is an interesting and well written article sun. I think your title is somewhat misleading. If you're using this as evidence to back up your previous claim in other posts (such as suggesting that google is the american governments tool or poodle) then i don't think you've understood the message of this article.

Its saying that the power and influence that google have aquired through being the worlds number one search engine, and thus having so much info about consumers, is forcing the american government(and many other counries too i dare say) to cuddle up to it, not that google is in any way working for the government(or against any government).

The people at google of course, like all humans, will have political ideas and ideals. That they prefer Obama to the likes of Bush/Cheney et al is more a matter of good taste(in the face of limited options) in my opinion.

I'm sure their choice to back obama won't harm their business interests either!

I said Google overused its influence and value, this is just a simple article talking about Google's influence on White House. If you are interested in the whole matter about Google's accusation against Chinese government, every non-moron will not isolate Google's action from U.S. government's reaction.

But I am sure Google will harm its business in China in the future, I wish Google draw back all its investment from China to prove how man Google is, haha

I just want to remind all of you that Google's intimidation to withdrawal from China is just to cooperate with U.S. government to produce domino effect in China, therefore causing more foreign-invested companies leave China. It is also part of U.S. strategy to fight with China and deglobalization.

Times published an article about Google's action, if you are interested, you can find it and read it.
