FNC and hate radio all appeal to basically the same group of people, so this is all they hear. It's made worse when a more mainstream media corporation chooses to run with something the "yellow journalists" are spewing. But really aren't the really angry, the really outspoken, the ones even the most lucid reasoning cannot reach, a basically small group when compared to the overall population? What, maybe 5% of the population? Maybe 10%? My personal feeling is that while I understand the need to answer the critics, most of the things coming from the right are so ludicrous as to not warrant any response. The President makes a very good and valid point about getting all the facts (which I am sure he will be blasted about regarding the Sherrod mess by the very ones who started it) and makes a very solid point regarding the acceptance of others varying generationally. But it will make no difference to the continuing poisonous discourse coming from hate radio/blogosphere and FNC and their listeners and followers. Those folks minds are long ago made up and they cannot be reasoned with. So why even bother to address it? 本科
