So Nevada Senator Reid has several earmarks that benefit his state in the Health Care legislation before the Senate. I know it's not exactly kosher to bring this up, but wasn't Obama going to limit/eliminate earmarks from bills? One
would hope that a bill of the size and expense of HCR would be clean of any earmarks.

A huge speech to both houses of Congress, 5 interviews on the Sunday talk shows, town hall meeting after town hall meeting, an hour on Letterman, worshipping coverage from all the networks and all put one of the cable channels (the one that is interested in the truth), all for a couple of points in the polls.
And the devil again is in the details. Wait until Congress settles on a bill and many Americans see how much more they'll pay for their health care and how much less care they'll get for their money.

FR: And who will get blamed if health care doesn't get passed this year? Per the poll, 10% say Obama, 16% say congressional Democrats, and 37% say congressional Republicans.
That's not blame. It's worth a ticker tape parade to anyone that gets rid of this pos.

I'm loving those numbers!
Looks like all that 'tea bagging' was for a whole lot of nothing... LOL!

Maybe if Obama got on TV a little more, to get his message out, maybe that would help improve the HCR poll numbers. Something to think about.

Headline: NBC/WSJ: OBAMA HEALTH #S INCH UP
Or down, because, as you say, it's within the margin of error. Maybe if Obama makes one more speech things will improve for him.

Oprah! Obama hasn't been on Oprah yet since he was elected! He can go there next. Then he has to pull out all the stops and go on Dancing With the Stars.

The GOP will always be the stumbling blocks to success in the USA. Obama's poll numbers will continue to increase once the facts get sorted out from misinformation. Facts that even the rightest of wingers can't ignore. Mark my words!
Go Obama!

For me it's a question of who will be praised if health care reform doesn't pass before the end of the year.
But if it does pass, how about we fund it with the rest of the stimulus money (because the prez says that's the key to long term prosperity)and the unused TARP money and use the $500 billion in medicare savings to reduce the deficit.
Automatic re-election.

Obama himself said if you don't buy healthcare of some kind under the plan then you will have to pay a $1300 penalty.
I can't afford healthcare right now because I'm broke but this $1300 penalty is a great idea.
What if I can't afford the gov health care? What then? I still have a $1300 penalty and now can't keep my lights on.
Thanks President Obama for making sure you look out for the little guy. What would we do without you?
Poll Gal
First read writes: Thirty-nine percent believe Obama's health-care plan is a good idea, which is up three points since August.
39%. That means 61% don't think it's a good idea. And if Congress is good at one thing, they are good at reading polls. They want to get rid of this turkey of a bill asap.

In markup today, after a couple of hours of Senators poking at the HCR bill, they've added $54 billion dollars to the bill. Not bad for a couple of hours of work. By Friday it will cost over $2 trillion.
